Trainlang started out offering in-person and in-company classes in Barcelona, but since 2018 we have focused on online instruction, where we help students from all over the world learn Chinese in a personalized, efficient, and flexible way, always putting the human element first.
We currently offer more languages and have over 3,000 students worldwide, as well as companies such as Banc Sabadell and La Caixa among our clients.
Behind Trainlang
Oliver Rodriguez's Story
I want to tell you a short story from my own perspective. It’s the story of my life and how Trainlang came to be as a result of a series of events that began more than 40 years ago.
As a child, I dreamed of becoming a soccer player or a guitarist, but life took me down a different path. Injuries kept me from playing sports, and hearing loss kept me from playing music. I had trouble hearing certain sounds, and I was a very restless child.
This made it harder for me to learn languages.
But I didn’t give up. I started studying Chinese out of sheer necessity, with no resources or method, just motivation and a clear purpose. I traveled to China, worked as an interpreter and consultant, and discovered my true calling: teaching.
In 2006, I taught my first class and found my calling.
In 2018, after overcoming a serious health setback, I launched the Trainlang online project together with my wife, Loida, a Chinese teacher and an essential part of this adventure.
Together, we lead a project rooted in empathy, relying on a top-notch teaching team. Day after day, we strive to demonstrate an undeniable truth: even if you feel like everything is stacked against you, never lose sight of this— if you set your mind to it, you can achieve anything.
